About Us

We are just a regular family that loves to go camping and fishing. After our son was born, we decided to buy a small camper.  This created a dilemma as this meant we could no longer pull our fishing boat.  After going on a few camping trips without a boat, I decided enough is enough.  I needed to find a way to get on the water.

I had two options to solve this dilemma.  I could buy the proper equipment to pull both a boat and a trailer (very costly) or get a portable boat. While searching for inflatable boats on the Internet, I came across something called a Porta-Bote.  This boat seemed too good to be true.  It claimed to fold to 4 inches flat and can be assembled in minutes and once assembled, the boat is more stable than an aluminium fishing boat.  I was very intrigued.

I told my wife I wanted a folding Porta-Bote and she was very sceptical.  She did not think a folding boat was very safe and told me she would not get into the boat if I bought one.  I can tell you that she did get into the Porta-Bote and we are now the exclusive distributors for Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Our boat of choice is the 12' Porta-Bote which easily accommodates my family and my parents (4 adults, 1 child, 1 bichon).  The 12' boat is very roomy but still light enough for me to lift and strap it onto our SUV by myself.  In the summer, you can catch us on the water at lakes such as Blackstrap, Delaronde, Hackett and Anglin.

I would like to give a special thank you to Craig and Patricia from Ontario Portable Boats for their help.
